Christopher A Milburn, MD

Dr. Milburn is a psychiatrist practicing addiction medicine. He completed his undergraduate medical education at Jefferson Medical College and his psychiatry residency at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. He has always had a strong interest in addiction medicine and addiction treatment and after completing his residency worked as an attending at Jefferson in their methadone maintenance clinic. While at Jefferson, he was also the director of their psychiatric inpatient unit which worked closely with the OB-GYN department to specialize in the treatment and management of pregnant patients with co-occurring substance use and mental health diagnoses. Following his work at Jefferson, he worked at Christiana Medical Center, where he started an outpatient buprenorphine/naloxone treatment program, also with focus on the management of opioid use disorders in pregnant patients. Dr. Milburn participated in the development of an opioid treatment protocol for general hospital inpatients with co-occurring opioid use disorders. Following his time at Christiana, he worked at Crozer Hospital, greatly expanding their outpatient Suboxone® program, assisting in the opening of a new inpatient detoxification and rehab unit as well as their methadone maintenance treatment program. Dr. Milburn is now an attending at Cooper University Hospital where he treats patients with opioid and other addictive disorders.
