About Fred Rincon
Professional Statement
I am a neurologist and critical care specialist with expertise in the resuscitation and management of acute brain injured patients. I trained both in medicine and neurology and completed dual fellowships in critical care, vascular neurology, and neuro-critical care. I also obtained formal education in neuro-epidemiology at Columbia University and bioethics at the University of Pennsylvania.
Both my clinical training and research have been funded by grants from the National Institutes of Health (Columbia University, T-32 NS07153-24 and Specialized Program in Translational Research in Acute Stroke SPOTRIAS, P50NS049060), the American Heart Association (12CRP12050342), and Genentech Foundation (G-29902). Currently, my clinical research is focused on the resuscitation phase of critically ill neurological patients in the intensive care unit (ICU) and evaluation of long-term outcomes.
