About Laurie Varlotta
Professional Statement
My name is Laurie Varlotta, and I am the Department Head of the Division of Pediatric Pulmonology at the Children's Regional Hospital at Cooper. I am board-certified in both Pediatric Pulmonology and Pediatrics, with over 30 years of experience in this field.
Throughout my career, I have cared for infants, children, adolescents, and even young adults transitioning to adult care for respiratory conditions. My expertise includes clinical research, managing diverse pulmonary programs, and administrative leadership. At Cooper, I have been working to enhance patient access to skilled care and build a robust pulmonary program for the community.
In addition, I serve on various medical boards, review research grants, and contribute to national and regional efforts in newborn screening programs.
Respiratory issues can affect children of all ages and often have a profound impact on their overall health and development. I am committed to working with families to provide the highest quality care and support for their unique needs.

Dr. Varlotta is a truly phenomenal physician - she was kind, attentive, and empathetic and was clearly a true expert in her field. She blended that breadth and depth of knowledge together with an excellent bedside manner for my son that was impressive and reassuring. We are lucky to have her overseeing my son's care and we will enthusiastically recommend her to others. Thanks Dr. Varlotta!

The pulmonologist I waited months to see for my daughter with asthma was amazing! She took the time out to explain exactly what asthma was and made my daughter for comfortable knowing she's not alone. I appreciate everything this doctor did for my daughter and so comfortable with her. She explained everyone is different so we can start with plan an and if that doesn't help her breathing we can move on to another plan. Thank goodness we finally got some answers. I'll be pleased to see her in June for a follow up on my daughters progress

This was our first visit and I am very impressed with how fast we got an appointment as a new patient and how efficiently she was diagnosed and treated. We will continue to use this provider even though the location is an hour from our home.
